Save the Midnight Meat Train!
http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/13151

Short version: Lionsgate has, for whatever reason, decided to dump the Clive Barker film adaptation Midnight Meat Train (directed by Ryuhei Kitamura) into budget theatres in far-flung places throughout the country, guaranteeing that it appears as a box office failure. This apparently has to do with some sort of bullshit studio political wrangling-- the new boss didn't like the way the old boss did things, so the old boss's projects are getting dumped.

Bloody Disgusting is trying to organize fans to buy tickets to showings, whether you can make it or not, and hopefully sell out theatres this weekend and get Lionsgate's attention. Hit the link above to find theatres that have online ticketing (again, most of these theaters sell tickets for between $1 and $4) and show your support for horror before Lionsgate can use this as proof that R-rated horror is dead and gone!

Extras needed for independent horror/comedy (21+)
This Sunday (20 July), the independent horror/comedy "The Landlord" will be shooting a bar scene and extras are needed! Shooting will take place from 8:30 a.m. until around 3:00 or 4:00 p.m. at the Gold Star Bar at 1755 W Division St. near the corner of Division and Wood. Everyone must be 21+ and bring a photo ID.

The setting is an ordinary neighborhood bar. Extras are asked to wear casual dress with no large brand names, trademarks, corporate logos or "Chicago" graphics (i.e. no Mickey Mouse, Nike logos or Chicago Cubs shirts).

Please email misfitsdan@yahoo.com with your availability on Sunday and any questions you might have. We will be filming shots for one scene requiring a few extras to stay from 8:30 through 12:00 and shots for another scene requiring a *lot* of extras to stay from 10:00 to 3 or 4:00. If you'd like to be in both scenes, that's fine - just bring two changes of clothing.

Please feel free to pass this along to anyone who might be interested, but remember: you MUST confirm with the production in order to participate!

Chicago horror film shoot call for extras!
Just got this through the Chicago Creepster Yahoo group:

--------------------------------------------------------

Hey Chicago horror troops,

Local director Robert Cappelletto is currently shooting the upcoming film, PICKMAN'S MUSE, based on the H.P. Lovecraft story, HAUNTER OF THE DARK. There is a scene that takes place in a movie theatre, and they need bodies in the seats!!

The shoot will take place at the Portage Theatre in Chicago, 4050 N. Milwaukee Ave (near the corners of Cicero and Irving Park) on SUNDAY, JULY 13 at 11AM. Dress casually and comfortably (with no large logos or brands). We anticipate the shoot will last approx 2-3 hours, and it
should be a whale of a good time for all involved.

Please pass this message along to your friends and drag a few along to join the party. The more the merrier, and you'll be helping to support independent Chicago horror filmmaking!!
